a top-5 team. This time it's against the Twins in Minnesota before 14,344, as Phil Ortega
wins his 9th of the year (against 5 losses) in a complete game 3-hit shutout. Jim Kaat
starts for the Twins and loses his 11th game of the year against 8 wins, as he pitches 6
innings, giving up 5 runs, 4 unearned, on 4 hits. Mudcat Grant and Jim Ollom finish with
3 combined shutout innings. Washington's Ken McMullen hits his 13th homer of the year with nobody
aboard. The Senators get 6 hits, 0 errors, and leave 3 on base. The Twins have 3 hits, 3

Before 17,836 in Anaheim,the Angels score 7 runs in the 8th inning on 6 singles and
prevail over the Yankees 8-4. Jack Hamilton starts for California and pitches 5 innings of
scoreless ball. Minnie Rojas comes in and gives up 4 runs in 3 innings, but still wins his
9th game of the year against 7 losses. Bill Kelso gets his 8th save of the year pitching a
