Game 3, Yankee Stadium, 1960 World Series between Yanks and Pirates. The Yankees,
in Game 2, had bombed the Pirates, 16-3, evening the series at 1 game apiece. In this
game the Yankees again provide the fireworks.
Bobby Richardson is the
batting star in the game as he hits a grand slam home run in a 6-run 1st inning. He has 6
RBI's, setting a new World Series single-game record.
Mickey Mantle (4 for 5 in the game)
also homers, and
Whitey Ford pitches a complete game 4-hitter, as New York wins 10-0 in a 16 hit attack
against 6 Pirate pitchers.
