1967 AL Pennant Race - July 15th - Tony Oliva hits a walk-off home run. Killebrew hits 2.

July 15, 1967. The #1 song of the day, according to Billboard, was still "Windy" by The Association. Race riots continued in Newark. But, the 1967 American League pennant race was ongoing. Carl Yastrzemski, on his way to a triple crown season (the last time this was done), is hitting .325, with 20 homers and 58 RBI's. Tony Oliva hits a walk-off home run and Harmon Killebrew, who will challenge Yastremski for both the home run and RBI leadership all year, hits 2 more to power the Twins.

The Senators win their 4th in a row over the Tigers, and 6th overall. The Tigers have now lost 5 in a row. Casey Cox gets the win, his 3rd. Mickey Lolich loses his 11th of the year. Dick Lines gets his 2nd save. Frank Howard knocks in his 55th and 56th RBI's for the Senators.. There were only 6,169 fans in attendance at this afternoon game in Washington. See Game
Twins 3 A's 2
For the third day in a row, these two teams played to a 3 to 2 score. On this day, The Twins turned the table back on the A's, who did the same to the Twins the day before. Ron Kline gets his 4th win of the year. Jack Aker, who got the save yesterday, gets his 5th loss. Killebrew hits his 25th and 26th home runs, driving in 2 runs, his 65th and 66th. His second homer of the day occurs in the bottom of the 9th inning, with nobody out. Oliva follows with a walk-off home run. See Game
