Though I am from Chicago, I've been an A's fan for over 50 years. This game was amazing. We were sitting behind 1st base. Allen's at bat v Blue in the 7th is etched in my mind. Blue threw a hard fastball, low and outside, about ankle to calf high. Allen, with that 40 ounce bat, ripped it on the line into the right field stands. It took about 2 seconds to get out there. It sounded like a cannon shot. Of course, if you watch the rest of the game, you'll see why those A's were such a great team. I remember the two hits that tied and won the game not as "line drives," but as little dinkers that were just over the infield. But Allen's home run, I'll never forget that as long as I live.
