My family immigrated to America in the mid-forties. We learned to be American thru baseball. My Uncle Sol will never forget watching Bobby Thompson's home run on Oct. 3, 1951, on Broadway + 100th Street thru the window of a TV/appliance store. Many did not yet have TVs. It broke his heart.
