Bottom 1 Alexander hits a fly ball towards right. Combs settles under the ball, and drops it. That's an error on Combs. McManus tags and moves to third.

Bottom 1 McManus hits a line drive into left field, out of the reach of Ruth. McManus reaches second base with a double. Johnson scores. Gehringer goes all the way around to score. Two runs are unearned.
