It was 66 years before the Tigers again came back from a 6-0 deficit in the ninth inning to win the game. On September 21, 2013, the Tigers erased a six-run deficit in the ninth and defeated the White Sox 7-6. In that game, as in this, the rally included a three-run homer (by Andy Dirks). However, unlike the 1947 Tigers, the 2013 Tigers did not win the game in the ninth inning, but in the twelfth, when they finally scored the winning seventh run.
