I attended this game with my brother when I was 11 years old. The most memorable part was when home plate umpire, Jocko Conlan, got into an argument with one of the Reds coaches. Conlan was the last umpire in the National League allowed to wear an outside, "balloon-style" chest protector. In the the heat of the argument, Jocko threw aside his chest protector and mask and attacked the coach to engage him in a fist fight. The fans went wild!! Many years later Jocko was the fourth umpire elected to the Hall of Fame.
