I remember the day well, it was the same day that Apollo 11s lunar module, the Eagle, landed on the moon. During the second game of the doubleheader, the announcer told the crowd of almost 13,000 that the Eagle had landed safely. The crowd cheered, the players lined the foul lines and a recording of Kate Smith's version of God Bless America was played!
